Statement of Warranty and Liability

R&D Industrial Mach., LLC. warranties our products for workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original owner. The warranty does not extend to the base revolver the conversion unit is used on due to manufacturing factors used in the construction of the revolver that are beyond our control. Warranty does not apply to normal wear associated in firing a converted weapon.

R&D CONVERSION UNITS ARE TO BE USED ONLY WITH STEEL FRAMED REVOLVERS. DO NOT USE ON REVOLVERS WITH BRASS FRAMES!

Improperly installed gated conversion units will not constitute a warranty repair. Should the end user make a mistake while attempting to install the gated conversion unit, he/she should contact R&D Industrial Mach., LLC for assistance in correcting the problem.

AMMUNITION

R&D Industrial Mach., LLC conversion units’ warranty will not extend to the use of ‘hand loaded’ ammunition. Use only factory loaded ‘Cowboy’ ammunition in the conversion units. Only lead bullets are to be used in the R&D conversion units, DO NOT USE JACKETED OR SEMI-JACKETEDBULLETS in any R&D conversion cylinder! The only ammunition recommended by R&D Gun Shop, Inc. is the ‘Cowboy Loads’ by BLACK HILLS AMMUNITION (smokeless) and GOEX/Black Dawge Cartridge (Black Powder).

DO NOT DRY FIRE R&D CONVERSION UNITS! Dry firing will result in damage to the firing pin(s).

Always let the hammer fully down on an EMPTY chamber! In six shot conversion units, load only five rounds and let the hammer fully down on the EMPTY sixth chamber. In five shot ‘Pocket Model” conversion units, load only four rounds and let the hammer down on the EMPTY fifth chamber.

On the .45 caliber 1860 conversion units, there are ten cylinder stop notches. Five of these notches are set between the chambers and are designed to be used to lock the cylinder out of battery and allow you to safely lower the hammer fully down between the loaded chambers for use in popular ‘Cowboy Action’ (SASS) type matches. For field use, or any other purpose, R&D Industrial Mach., LLC strongly recommends you load only four rounds and safely lower the hammer fully down on the empty fifth chamber.

NOTICE: When you convert a replica percussion revolver to use metallic cartridges, you have ‘manufactured a firearm’. When using a gated conversion unit, the permanent modification of the revolver’s frame will change the legal status of the percussion revolver to that of a firearm and all Federal Regulation shall apply.

R&D Industrial Mach., LLC assumes no liability, expressed or implied, for the misuse of a conversion unit, improper use resulting in violation of local laws, or injury resulting from either intentional or unintentional discharge.
